♦ Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers has occurred at most places over Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala; at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal
& Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Odisha, Gujarat, Marathawada and south interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam & Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and north interior Karnataka. Weather remained mainly dry/dry over rest of the country. The amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Karwar-15; Mangalore(Bajpe)-14; Panambur-12; Goa (Panjim) and Shirali-10 each;
Agumbe and Cannur-8 each; Keonjhargarh and Harnai-7 each; Kolkata(dum-dum) and Honavar-5 each; Gangtok, Imphal, Alibagh and Kozhikode-4 each and Katra, Dehradun, Burdwan, Baripada, Darjeeling, Bulsar, Mumbai (SCZ), Mahabaleshwar, Madikeri and Karipur-3 each.
♦ Temperatures: Yesterday's heat wave to severe heat wave conditions were prevailed at many places of north coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over north coastal Odisha and at isolated places over Jharkhand and West Bengal. Maximum temperature of 44°C and more were recorded at: Churu-44.3; Bikaner and Orai-44.0.
Minimum temperatures are above normal by 2-4°C at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and coastal Andhra Pradesh; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and interior Maharashtra. They are below normal by 2-4°C at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh and south interior Karnataka and near
normal over rest parts of the country.
♦ Kalpana-1: Cloud imagery of 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of Uttarakhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, south Odisha, east & central Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and east Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Punjab, north Rajasthan and Saurashtra & Kutch.
