Rainfall : Rain/thundershowers occurred at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Odisha, Tamilnadu and Andaman & Nicobar. The amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Siliguri-7; Gangtok-6; Carnicobar-2; Kottayam and Punalur-1each.
 
Temperatures: Heat wave conditions prevailed at a few places over Assam and at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Maximum temperatures of 44°C or more were recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Ganganagar-45.9, Churu-45.7, Hissar-45.0, Khargone-44.8, Agra-44.7, Wardha and Delhi(Palam)-44.5, Varanasi, Sultanpur & Daltonganj-44.4 Hamirpur and Damoh-44.2 each, Gaya-44.1, Amreli & Rentachintala-44.0 each. Maximum temperatures were above normal by 5-10°C at a few places over Himachal Pradesh and Assam; at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal and by 2-4°C at a few places over Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and interior Maharashtra and nearly normal over rest parts of the country.

Kalpana-1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of northeastern states, southwest Bay of Bengal and southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
