♦  Yesterday, southwest monsoon was vigorous over Gangetic West Bengal and active over Uttarakhand, Odisha, Jharkhand and Konkan & Goa.

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers occurred at many places over Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal  at a few places over Coastal Karnataka, Assam & Meghalaya, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and  at isolated places  over west Rajasthan, western Himalayan  region, Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra, west Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.. Weather remained mainly dry /dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (2
cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Dharamshala­6; Barmer­5; Bhira and Jagdalpur­4 each; Cannur and Agumbe­3 each and Meerut, Baharampur, Cherrapunji, Bhubaneshwar and Chandbali­2 each. 

TEMPERATURES: Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2­6°C  at many places over eastern & northeastern states, Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and at a few places over interior Karnataka. They were above normal by 2­5°C at many places over Tamilnadu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Jammu & Kashmir and nearly normal over rest parts of the country. 

♦  Kalpana­1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of  Chhattisgarh, south Jharkhand, Vidarbha, north coastal  Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, north and central Bay of Bengal and Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds  are seen over rest parts of the country.
