♦ Southwest monsoon was active over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Gangetic West Bengal.
♦ RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers occurred at most places over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar; at many places over Chhattisgarh, east Uttar
Pradesh and east Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Uttarakhand and at isolated places over northeastern states, west Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal
Pradesh, Vidarbha, Maharashtra and Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Pendra and Haldia7 each; Balasore, Digha and Uluberia5 each; Rewa, Allahabad, Bilaspur and Diamond Harbour4 each; Dehradun
and Sidhi3 each and Jamshedpur, Pantnagar, Jammu, Varanasi, Satna, Kolkata, Midnapore, Paradip and Puri2 each.
♦ TEMPERATURES: Maximum temperatures were below normal by 25°C at many places over West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, east Uttar Pradesh, south Rajasthan, Telangana, some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were above normal by 23°C at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal
Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, Kerala and Tamilnadu and nearly normal over rest parts of the country.
♦ Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Western Himalayan region, Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, north Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal and southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
