TEMPERATURE: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 36° C over many parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha; some parts of Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, east Madhya Pradesh and and isolated pockets of east Uttar Pradesh, Konkan Goa, Bihar and northeastern states. They are above normal by 46° C over many of parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat state and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and by 23° C over some parts of remaining northwest India and north peninsular India. They were near normal over remaining parts of the country. The Lowest minimum temperature of 4.8°C has been recorded at Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) in plains of the country.

RAINFALL:
Weather remained mainly dry over the country.
CLOUDS:
Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of north Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Low/medium clouds are seen over some parts of rest western Himalayan regions, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, rest Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, and over east Uttar Pradesh, east and northeast India.
 
The western disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood as an upper air system persists. It would move away eastnortheastwards during next 24 hours.
A fresh strong western disturbance would affect northwest India from 2nd February onwards with main activity from 4th onwards.
The upper air cyclonic circulation over Assam and neighbourhood extending upto 2.1 km above mean sea level persists.
