♦ FOG: At 0830 hours IST of today, dense to very dense fog has been observed over some parts of east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and isolated pockets of Haryana, north Madhya Pradesh and north West Bengal. The major stations where visibility has been reported less than 200 m at 0830 hours of today are: Karnal, Hissar,
Bhiwani, Narnaul, Gwalior, Orai, Fursatgung, Allahabad, Varanasi, Satna, Rewa, Gorakhpur, Balia, Patna, Gaya, Purnea, Malda and Shantiniketan.
♦ TEMPERATURES: Cold wave conditions continued to prevailed over isolated pockets of Vidarbha, east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Minimum temperatures rose by 24° C over many parts of Jammu & Kashmir and some parts of Uttarakhand, north Rajasthan and northeast Madhya Pradesh; fell by 24° C over some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra and isolated pockets of north interior Karnataka, West Bengal and west Assam and changed a little elsewhere. They are above normal by 24° C over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, west Rajasthan and Tamilnadu; below normal by 46° C over some parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Interior Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal and isolated pockets of Marathawada, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, north interior Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and below normal by 23° C over rest parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telengana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal & north Interior Karnataka and near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest Minimum temperature of 2.2°C has been recorded at Narnaul (Haryana) in plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL:Light rainfall has occurred at a few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and south coastal Tamilnadu and at one or two places over Kerala and south interior Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief
amounts of rainfall ( in cm ) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Nagapattinam, Pamban and Tondi1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over Jammu & Kashmir,Himachal Pradesh, south Bay of Bengal and Comorin area. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttrakhand, Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan,
Arunachal Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Kerala.
♦ A trough of low at mean sea level extends from southwest Bay of Bengal to westcentral Bay of Bengal with cyclonic circulation aloft over southwest Bay of Bengal extending upto 3.1 km.
♦ The western disturbance as an upper air system over north Pakistan and neighbourhood persists.
