TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 24° C over some parts of south Konkan, Goa, Coastal & North Interior Karnataka. They are above normal by 26° C over most parts of rest of the country outside south peninsular India, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya where they are near normal. The lowest minimum temperature of 8.0°C has been recorded at Sikar (Rajasthan) in the plains of the country.
RAINFALL: Rain/snow has occurred at most places over western Himalayan region. Rain has occurred at many places over Punjab and Haryana; at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh and at one or two places over west Rajasthan, Assam & Meghalaya, Saurashtra & Kutch, coastal areas of Gangetic West Bengal & Odisha and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The rainfall amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today: Banihal, Batote and Bhaderwah5 each, Katra and Dharamshala4 each, Kupwara, Quazigund and Jammu3 each, Manali and Una2 each and Meerut, Chandigarh, Srinagar, Amritsar, Sundernagar, Shimla, Kalpa, Pahalgam, Kukernag, Patiala, Ambala, Dehradun, Tehri, Churu, Bikaner, Passighat, Bhiwani and Canning Town1 each.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over many parts of western Himalayan region; some parts of southeast Bay of Bengal and south Andaman Sea.. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of western Himalayan region and some parts of Punjab, Haryana & Delhi,and parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, west Maharashtra, Tamilnadu and Kerala.
♦ The western disturbance as an upper air system over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir now lies over Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood with an induced cyclonic circulation in lower levels over north Rajasthan and neighbourhood. It would move eastwards during next 24 hours.
♦ A fresh feeble western disturbance may affect western Himalayan region from 16th onwards.
♦ An upper air cyclonic circulation over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Comorin area now lies over Lakshadweep area in lower levels.
♦ An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over north Karnataka and neighbourhood in lower levels.
