♦ TEMPERATURES: Maximum temperatures were above normal by 24° C over many parts of northeastern states, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Kerala, Tamilnadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh; some parts of west Madhya Pradesh, south interior Karnataka and isolated pockets of western Himalayan region and southeast Rajasthan. They were near normal over remaining parts of the country outside isolated pockets of Odisha, west Rajasthan, south Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka where they were below normal by 24° C. The highest maximum temperature of 38.3°C was recorded at Surendranagar (Gujarat) in plains of
the country.
♦ RAINFALL : Rainfall occurred at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya & Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal and at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa, interior Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu & Rayalaseema. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Car Nicobar5; Basirhat3; Canning, Jamshedpur and Midnapur2 each; Tiruchchirapalli, Chitradurga, Bhagalpur, Alipore, Imphal, Long Islands and Nancowry1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Bihar, Odisha, Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and eastcentral Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over western Himalayan region, south peninsular India, rest east India and rest northeastern states.
♦ The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon continues to pass through Raxaul, Varanasi, Jabalpur, Hoshangabad, Vadodara, Porbandar, Lat. 21.0° N / Long. 67.0° E and Lat. 21.0° N / Long. 60.0° E.
♦ The low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Odisha persists and associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 4.5 km above mean sea level.
♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over coastal areas of Maharashtra & neighbourhood now lies over eastcentral Arabian sea and extends upto 3.1 Km above mean sea level.
