Weather Forecast India 4 October 2012 Climate Report


♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall occurred at many places over northeastern states, Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and west coast; at a few places over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, rest Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka and at one or two places over Western Himalayan region, West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Passighat10, Karwar9, Cherrapunji8, Yotmal7, Honavar4, Kailashahar and Umaria3
each and Gaya, Jharsuguda, Panjim and Shirali2 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Telangana, north interior Karnataka, northeastern states, northeast Bay of Bengal and eastcentral Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Kerala and Tamilnadu.
♦ Due to high moisture contents and likely rainfall activity over central, east & northeast India, monsoon is not likely to withdraw from the above regions during next 45 days.
♦ The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon continues to pass through Lat. 29.0° N / Long. 81.0° E, Kheri, Kanpur, Guna, Ratlam, Vallabh Vidhyanagar, Porbandar, Lat. 21.0° N / Long. 67.0° E and Lat . 21.0°N / Long. 60.0.
