Monsoon News India 6 June 2012 Rainfall Forecast
·Southwest monsoon has set in over Kerala, today, the 5th June 2012. It has further advanced into remaining parts of south Arabian Sea, some parts of central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Maldives & Comorin areas, entire Kerala, some parts of coastal Karnataka and south Tamilnadu and some more parts of south and eastcentral Bay of Bengal.
·Conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of coastal Karnataka, Goa, some parts of south Konkan, south Madhya Maharashtra and interior Karnataka, some more parts of Tamilnadu and Bay of Bengal and some parts of northeastern states during next 48 hours.
·The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat 13.0° N/ Long. 60.0° E, Lat 13.0° N/ Long. 65.0° E, Lat 13.0° N/ Long. 70.0° E, Mangalore, Medikeri, Kodaikanal, Lat 10.0° N/ Long. 80.0° E, Lat 10.0° N/ Long. 86.0° E, Lat 15.0° N/ Long. 90.0° E and Lat 20.0° N/ Long. 93.0° E on 5thth June.
·The Satellite Kalpana-1 cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of eastern & northeastern States, north & eastcentral Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and southeast & eastcentral Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Rajasthan.
