Weather Report India 21 May 2012 Climate Forecast


TEMPERATURES:Heat wave conditions are prevailing over some parts of Vidarbha and isolated pockets of Orissa and Telangana. Yesterday maximum temperatures rose by 25° C over isolated pockets of western Himalayan region and by 23° C over isolated pockets of Haryana, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, interior Karnataka and west Assam. They were above normal by 45° C over many parts of northeastern states, some parts of Orissa and Telangana; by 23° C over western Himalayan region, Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and interior peninsula. The highest maximum temperature of 45.8°C was recorded at Rentachintala (Andhra Pradesh ) and Chandrapur ( Vidarbha, Maharashtra ) in the country.

RAINFALL : Rainfall has occurred at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal, Tripura and Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Meghalaya, Jharkhand and Kerala. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Valparai5, Agartala4, Noncowry2 and Carnicobar1.

CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and east Bay of Bengal. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside west Rajasthan, Gujarat, east Madhya Pradesh, and Madhya Maharashtra.
