TEMPERATURES:
Yesterday, maximum temperatures rose by 23° C over some parts of northeastern states, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Orissa; fell by 711° C over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand; by 36°C over parts of east Utter Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra; by 23° C over parts of west Utter Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh and changed a little elsewhere. They were above normal by 34° C over northeastern States, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa, interior Karnataka, Kerala, north Tamilnadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh; below normal by 49°C over Gujarat, adjoining parts of Rajasthan; below normal by 36° C over Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Utter Pradesh, Delhi, north Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. They were near normal over remaining parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 36.7°C was recorded at Bellary (Karnataka) in the country.

RAINFALL : Rain/snowfall occured at a few places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. Rainfall occured at one or two places over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Sikkim. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Bahraich 6, Gorakhpur and Gangtok 1 each.

CLOUDS:
Kalpana1 cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, southwest Bay of Bengal and eastcentral Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over some parts of rest western Himalayan region, east & northeastern States and peninsular India.
