Weather Report India 4 January 2012 Climate Forecast



♦  TEMPERATURES:  Yesterday, maximum temperatures  rose by 3­4°C over many parts of Gujarat,   Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh; fell by 3­5°C over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh; by 2­3°C over  Punjab and   Uttarakhand and changed a little elsewhere over  the country. They were below   normal by 2­4°C over some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir,   Chattisgarh,   Orissa   and   above   normal   by   2­3°C   over   some   parts   of   Gujarat, Rajasthan  and  northeastern  states. They  were  near  normal  over  rest of the  country.   The highest Maximum temperature of 33.4°C was recorded at Gulberga (Karnataka) in plains of the country.
♦   RAINFALL:  (From 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of  yesterday ): Rain/snowfall occured at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Rainfall also occurred at a few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.  Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country.  The chief  amounts of  rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday was: Kupwara ­1.
CLOUDS:  Kalpana­1  cloud  imagery  at 0530  hours  IST shows  convective  clouds  over western Himalayan region, parts of south Bay of Bengal and south Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are also seen over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan,  west Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Tamilnadu.
