♦ TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures rose by 23°C over some parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, coastal & North Interior Karnataka and Telangana; fell by 24°C over many parts of northeastern States and at isolated pockets of Gangetic West Bengal and Orissa and changed a little elsewhere. Cold wave conditions have abated from many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. However, cold wave conditions continued to prevail over some parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, north Maharashtra and Bihar where minimum temperatures are below normal by 46°C. The lowest minimum temperature of 1.5°C recorded at Narnaul(Haryana) in plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL : Rain/snowfall occured at one or two places over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Rainfall occured at one or two places over Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh,
Bihar, Orissa, Tamilnadu and Kerala. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Thiruvananthapuram and Tuticorin2 each, Kochi and Karipur1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1 cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir and Kerala. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest western Himalayan region, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and south peninsular India.
