♦ Fog: Dense to very dense fog has been observed at 0830 hrs IST over some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, north Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and northwest Madhya Pradesh. The stations where visibility reported less than 50 meters are Ambala, Hissar, Bhiwani, Pantnagar, Banda, Khajuraho, Guna, Shajapur and Imphal.
♦ TEMPERATURES: Cold wave conditions are prevailing over some parts of Rajasthan. Stations where minimum temperatures recorded as 4°C or less in the plains of the country at 0830 hours IST of today are: Amritsar, Ludhiana, Hissar, Narnaul, Churu, Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Pilani, Phalodi and Erinpura. Minimum temperatures fell by 35°C over parts of Haryana, Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh and by 12°C over Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Jharkhand, Gujarat and Maharashtra and changed little else where in the country.They are below normal by 45°C over some parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra and by 24°C over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, west Madhya Pradesh and are above normal by 25°C over most parts of east Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh and east & peninsular India. They are near normal over the rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 0.4°C has been recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) in plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL : Rain/snow has occured over at many places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and at one or two places over Jammu & Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers has occured at many places over Gangetic West Bengal, Chattisgarh and Orissa, at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Tamilnadu and at one or two places over Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, SubHimalayan West Bengal, Manipur and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Weather remained mainly over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Uluberia and Kolkatta (Alipore)7, each, Keongjhargarh5, Balasore, Digha, and Hirakud4 each, Shimla, Sambalpur, Baripada, Haldia, Canning, Midnapur, Pamban and Bagati3 each and Manali, Sundarnagar, Raipur, Durg, Chaibasa, Kolkatta (Dum Dum), Bankura and Tuticorin 2 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of east Jammu & Kashmir, northeastern states and southwest Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest western Himalayan region, east Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and east & south peninsular India.
