♦ TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures rose by 46°C over parts of Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and western parts of West Bengal and Maharashtra, by 23°C over east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. They are above normal by 48°C over parts of northwest, central & east India, north interior Karnataka and Maharashtra, by 23°C over parts of south interior Karnataka, north Kerala and north Tamilnadu. They are below normal by 23°C over parts of west Rajasthan, Saurashtra & Kutch, south Kerala and south Tamilnadu and near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 2.8°C has been recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) in the plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL : Rain/snow has occurred at a few places over Uttarakhand and at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh. Rainfall has occured at many places over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep; at a few places over Tamilnadu and at one or two places over east Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka, east India and Andaman & Nicobar islands. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm and above) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Kavali & Bapatla6 each, Coonoor & Minicoy4 each, Jabalpur, Nellore, Ongole, Sagar, Bharatpur, Fatehgarh, Bramhapuri, Hamirpur, Raipur and Rajnandgaon3 each, Pendra, Gwalior, Nandigama, Alappuzha, Punalur, Kottayam, Mukteshwar, Visakhapatnam, Damoh, Agra, Aligarh and Thiruvananthapuram (AP)2 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of northwest Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, southeast Bay of Bengal and south Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside west Rajasthan and Gujarat.
