TEMPERATURES: Severe cold wave conditions are prevailing over some parts of Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Punjab, north Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar and cold wave conditions over remaining parts of Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, interior Karnataka and north Orissa. The stations where the minimum temperatures recorded today as 4°C or less are; Amritsar, Ludhiana, Hissar, Patiala, Ganganagar, Churu, Pilani, Ambala, Chandigarh, Karnal, Hissar, Bhiwani Rohtak, Narnaul, Delhi, Nazibabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Hamirpur, Fursatganj, Banda, Sultanpur, Gaya, Rewa, Khajuraho, Nowgong, Gwalior, Datia, Mandla, Umaria and Naliya. The  lowest minimum temperature of ­1.2°C was recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) in plains of the country.
♦  RAINFALL (from 0830 hrs IST  IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of Today): Rain/thundershowers occurred at most places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Weather remained mainly dry  over rest  parts of the  country.  The  chief amounts  of rainfall  (in   cm)  recorded  at 0830  hrs  IST of today  are: Portblair­11, Nancowry­10, Car Nicobar and Hut Bay­5 each and Long Island­1.
♦  CLOUDS: Kalpana­1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of north Jammu & Kashmir, south & central Bay of Bengal and  Andaman Sea.  Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest Western Himalayan region and south peninsular India.
