Weather report forecst of 8 November 2011 India climate



♦  From 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today, rainfall has occured  at a few places over Kerala and Andaman & Nicobar  Islands and at one or  two places over  Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Nagaland,  Manipur, Mizoram  & Tripura, Orissa   and   Tamilnadu.  Weather   remained mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Kanyakumari­5 and Gangtok and Hut Bay­1 each.

♦  Today's miaximum temperatures are above normal by 3­5°C over many parts of  Madhya Pradesh, north Maharashtra and north Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands   and   by   2­3°C   over   many   parts   of   Gujarat,   Rajasthan,   Chhattisgarh,   Orissa,   rest Maharashtra and rest peninsular  India and some parts  of western Himalayan region, Sub­ Himalayan West Bengal, northeastern states and Lakshadweep and below  normal by 2­3°C over  isolated pockets  of east Uttar  Pradesh, Bihar  and Sikkim. They  are near  normal over remaining  parts  of the  country. The  highest  maximum  temperature  of  37.2°C   has  been recorded at Idar (Gujarat) in the country.

♦  Kalpana­1 cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of northwest Jammu & Kashmir, south Andaman Sea, Comorin area and central & south Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest western Himalayan Region, northeastern states, Gujarat, Kerala and Tamilnadu.
