♦ TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 24° C over parts of Gujarat, east Uttar Pradesh and northeastern states. They are above normal by 24° C over parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, east Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. They are near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 11.2°C has been recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) in the plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL :Rainfall has occurred at most places over Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh; at many places over Odisha and south Chhattisgarh; at a few places over north Chhattisgarh, south Tamilnadu, Marathawada & Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Madhya Maharashtra and Gangetic West Bengal. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (4 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Vijaywada13 , Nandigama11, Khammam, Tuni and Gadag9 each, Ongole, Bapatla and Kakinada8 each, Medikeri, Nedumbassery and Narsapur6 each, Agumbe, Chitradurga, Cannur, Kothagundem, Raichur, Hyderabad, Rentachintala, Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam4 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over many parts of north Andhra Pradesh, south Chhattishgarh, south Bay of Bengal and Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of central & remaining peninsular India, eastern and northeastern states.
♦ The well marked low pressure area over south interior Karnataka and adjoining area of Rayalaseema weaken further into a low pressure area and lies over Rayalaseema & neighbourhood at 0830 hours IST of today the 2nd November 2012. The associated upper air circulation extends upto mid tropospheric levels.
♦ A feeble western disturbance lies over north Pakistan and neighbourhood.
