♦ The deep depression over westcentral Bay of Bengal moved southwestwards, weakened into a depression and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of today the 19th November 2012 near latitude 15.5°N and longitude 87.0°E, about 750 km eastnortheast of Chennai,470 km southeast of Visakhapatnam and 550 km southsoutheast of Paradip. The system would move westsouthwards towards south Andhra Pradesh and north Tamilnadu coasts and weaken further during next 24 hours.
♦ The western disturbance as an upper air system over Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood is moving away eastwards.
♦ A fresh feeble western disturbance may affect western Himalayan region from 21st onwards.
♦ TEMPERATURES: Yesterday,maximum temperatures were below normal by 23° C over some parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, southeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and isolated pockets of west Rajasthan and Telangana. They were above normal by 24° C over many parts of SubHimalayan West Bengal, northeastern states and extreme south peninsular India and isolated pockets of Jammu division of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Saurashtra & Kutch and near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 34.3°C was recorded at Surendranagar (Gujarat) in plains of the
country.
♦ RAINFALL: Light rainfall occurred at many places over Jammu & Kashmir. Light rainfall also occurred at one or two places over Odisha. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of northeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, northeastern states and extreme south peninsular India.
