Weather Forecast India 26 October 2012 Climate News Report


♦ TEMPERATURES: Maximum temperatures are below normal by 24° C over many parts of northwest India. They are above normal by 23° C over isolated pockets of Vidarbha, south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and along west coast and near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 36.8°C has been recorded at Surendranagar( Gujarat) and Jalgaon ( Maharashtra) in the plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL : Light to moderate rainfall has occurred at many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Light rainfall has occurred at one or two places over east Assam, south peninsular India and Lakshadweep. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) has been recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Nancowry5; Maya Bandar3; Bapatala2 and Narsapur1.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of extreme south peninsular India, eastcentral Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of Jammu & Kashmir and peninsular India.
♦ The cyclonic storm (MURJAN) further moved westsouthwestwards and lay centered at 1730 hours IST of today, the 25th October, 2012 near lat.09.5°N/ long. 51.5°E, about 2300 Km westsouthwest of AminiDivi (Lakshadweep). It would move westsouthwestwards
and cross Somalia coast near lat 09.0°N around early morning of 26th October. The system would not cause any adverse weather over west coast of India.
♦ The trough of low extends from Comorin area to Karnataka coast persists.
♦ Another trough of low over south Andaman Sea with cyclonic circulation aloft upto 2.1 km above mean sea level persists. Under its influence, a low pressure area would develop over south Andaman sea during next 24 hours.
