Weather News India 20 August 2012 Climate Rainfall Report Forecast


♦ RAINFALL:Rainfall has occurred at many places over Himachal Pradesh,
Vidarbha, Konkan & Goa; at a few places over Uttarakhand, Madhya
Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and northeastern states
and at one or two places over rest parts of the country outside
Punjab, Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Tamilnadu where
weather remained mainly dry. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm and
above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Chandrapur9,
Dharamsala, Dahanu and Gondia6 each, Shimla4, Sundernagar, Shajapur,
Yeotmal and Mahabaleshwar3 each and Itanagar, Kolkata, Agumbe and
Chandigarh2 each.

♦ The southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Vidarbha and active
over Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana and south Interior
Karnataka ending at 0830 hours IST of today.

♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective
clouds over parts of northwest India, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra,
northeastern states, north and adjoining eastcentral Bay of Bengal and
Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the
country.
