TEMPERATURES:
Minimum temperatures fell by 23° C over some parts of western Himalayan region and south interior Karnataka and isolated pockets of Punjab, west Rajasthan and interior Maharashtra; rose by 24° C over many parts of Gujarat, south Rajasthan and some parts of east Madhya Pradesh, south Tamilnadu and isolated pockets of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Interior Orissa and Assam and changed a little elsewhere over the country. They are above normal by 23° C over many parts of Rajasthan, subHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and some parts of Gujarat region and west Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of northeastern states; below normal by 23° C over some parts east Uttar Pradesh, peninsular and adjoining central India and near normal over rest parts of the country. The actual minimum temperatures are above 10°C in the plains of country.
 
RAINFALL (From 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today): Rainfall has occurred at most places over Jammu & Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh, at a few places over Assam & Meghalaya and at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Nagaland and Sikkim. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Cherrapunji3 and Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Passighat, Qazigund, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Kupwara, Rangia and Kokarnag1 each.
 
CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of western Himalayan region, Punjab and Arunachal Pradesh. Low/medium clouds are seen over some parts of the rest of the country outside Maharashtra, Karnataka, east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
