Weather Report India 16 February 2012 Climate Forecast




♦  TEMPERATURES: Cold wave conditions are prevailing over many parts of Punjab, Haryana and north Rajasthan. Minimum temperatures are below normal by 3­6°C over parts of western Himalayan region, Punjab,  Haryana, north Rajasthan, coastal areas of Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra. They  are above  normal  by  2­4  C over  parts  of east Uttar  Pradesh, Chhattishgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and near normal over  rest of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of  1.4°C  has been recorded at Hissar and Karnal (Haryana) in plains of the country.
♦  RAINFALL : Very light rain/snowfall has occured at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and at one or two places over Uttrakhand.   Light   to   moderate   rainfall   has   occurred   at   many   places   over   Jharkhand   and Gangetic West Bengal; at a few places over Chhattishgarh and at one or two places over Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh and Orissa. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Canning, Pendra and Sambalpur­3 each, Sundergarh, Midnapur, Ambikapur,   Ranchi,   Kolkata   and   Diamond­Harbour­2   each   and   Mandla,   Seoni,   Champa, Bankura, Jamshedpur, Keongjhargarh, Kolkata(Alipur), Shantiniketan and Bilaspur­1each.
♦  CLOUDS: Kalpana­1 cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over  parts of  Jammu & Kashmir and some parts of south Bay of Bengal. Low/medium clouds are seen over  parts  of rest western Himalayan region, Uttar  Pradesh,   Chhattisgarh, east and south peninsular India
