SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS: During the past (24) hours, rain have been scattered in Kachin State, isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Chin and Mon States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) to (4 °C) above January average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Kayin States, (5°C) to (6 °C) above January average temperatures in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States, (7°C) above January average temperature in Chin and Mon States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperature was Ann (8°C). The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Putao and Myeik (0.16) inch each.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 6th JANUARAY, 2012: Likelihood of isolated light rain in Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Kayin and Mon states and weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (60%).
