Synoptic Situation: The severe cyclone storm “THANE” over Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay moved West-Southwestwards intensified into a severe cyclonic storm “THANE” (ECP 980 HPA) with a core Hurricane wind and now lies over the same area. It is likely to intensify further and move in a westerly direction and may cross Tamil NADU coast of India between Nagattinam and Chennai by early morning of 30 Decenber 2011.

Forecast: Weather is likely to remain mainly dry with tempo. partly cloudy sky over the country.
Fog: Light to moderate fog may occur over the country during mid night till morning.

Temperature: Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
