Weather Report 25 December 2011 India Climate Forecast



♦ Fog: Moderate fog has been observed in morning hours over  isolated pockets of east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and sub­Himalayan West Bengal and shallow fog over some parts of Haryana, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh.  The stations where visibility observed between 500M to 200M at 0830 hours IST of today are : Ludhiana, Ambala, Delhi, Gorakhpur, Purnea, Jalpaiguri and Malda.
♦  TEMPERATURES: Cold wave conditions are prevailing over most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and some parts of north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. The stations where the minimum temperatures recorded as 4°C or less today are Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Chandigarh, Hissar, Bhiwani, Churu, Ganganagar, Pilani, Rohtak, Narnaul, Delhi (Safdarjung) and Agra. Minimum temperatures fell by 2­3°C  over some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and east Rajasthan and by around 1°C over rest parts of northwest India and rose by 2­3°C over some parts of east India. They are below normal by 2­5°C over many parts of Indo­Gangetic plains and by 2­3°C over some parts of east and south peninsular India. The lowest minimum temperature of ­1.0°C was recorded at Churu (Rajasthan) in the plains of the country.
♦  RAINFALL: Rain/thundershower has occured at a few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Lakshadweep. Weather remained mainly dry  over rest  parts the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 0830 hrs IST of today are : Nancowry­7, Carnicobar­6 and Minicoy­3.
♦  CLOUDS: Kalpana­1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Jammu & Kashmir,  south and eastcentral Bay of Bengal and north Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest Western Himalayan region, Punjab, west Rajasthan, east, peninsular and northeast India.
