Weather Report 24 December 2011 India Climate Forecast



♦  TEMPERATURES: Cold day conditions are prevailing in isolated pockets of east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The stations where maximum temperatures are recorded as 16°C or less are: Gorakhpur and Bhagalpur. Maximum temperatures rose by 2­5°C over some parts of east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and fell by 2­3°C over some parts of west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi and changed little elsewhere in the country. They are below normal 5­8°C over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. The highest maximum temperature of 34.0°C has been recorded at Karwar (Karnataka) in the plains of the country.
♦   RAINFALL   (from   0830­1730   hours   IST   of   today):  Rain/thundershower   has occured at a few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.  Weather remained mainly dry  over rest  parts the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hrs IST of today are:Nancowry and Minicoy­3 each.
♦  CLOUDS: Kalpana­1 Cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of north   Jammu & Kashmir, Tamilnadu, south and adjoining west central Bay   of   Bengal,   southeast   Arabian   Sea,   south   Andaman   sea   and   Comorin   area. Low/medium clouds  are seen over  parts  of rest Himalayan region, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, central , east and rest peninsular India.
