Weather Report Forecast 14 November 2011 India Climate




♦  From 0830  hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today, rainfall has occured at a few places over Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over rest northeastern states and Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or above) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Maya Bandar­4, Long Island­3 and Gangtok and Port Blair­1 each.
♦  Fog/shallow fog has been observed over some parts of Assam, Meghalaya,  Manipur, Sub­ Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar and east Uttar Pradesh.
♦   Minimum temperatures  fell  by  2­3°C over  some parts  of Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, Sub­Himalayan and West Bengal, rose by 2­3°C over some parts of Assam and west Madhya Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. However, they are above normal by 2­5°C over many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal, Gujarat and  Madhya  Pradesh  and  some  parts  of western  Himalayan  region, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Maharashtra and Telengana. They are below normal by 2­3°C over some parts of northeastern states and isolated pocket of rest south Peninsular India and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. They are near normal over rest parts of the country. The  lowest minimum temperature of 11.8°C has been recorded at  Karnal (Haryana) in plains of the country.
♦  Kalpana­1 cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of western Himalayan region, northeast & central India  and Tamilnadu
