♦ From 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today, rainfall has occured at many places over south coastal Andhra
Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu; at a few places over Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka and at one or two places over Assam & Meghalaya, Konkan, south Madhya Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Weather remained mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Chennai (Air Port)4, Kavali, Cochin (Nadumbassery), Vellore, Chennai (city) and Maya Bandar3 each, Bangalore, Tiruchchirapalli and Kanyakumari2 each and Nellore, Arogyavaram, Mangalore (Air Port), Alapuzha, Thiruvananthapuram, Cannur, Karipur, Kottayam, Vedaranniyam, Atiramapatinam and Palayankottai1 each.
♦ Maximum temperatures are above normal by 23°C over many parts of Saurashtra & Kutch, northeastern
states, Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and some parts of western Himalayan region, central Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, SubHimalayan West Bengal and Vidarbha and below normal by 23°C over some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, south Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu. They are near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 37.9°C has been recorded at Rajkot (Gujarat) in the country.
♦ Kalpana1 cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of north Jammu & Kashmir, Konkan, south Madhya Maharashtra, south peninsular India, south & westcentral Bay of Bengal, Comorin area and northeast, central & south Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch and south Gujarat.
Weather Warnings:
Heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over Tamilnadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
