♦ From 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today, the northeast monsoon remained active over Tamilnadu and Kerala during past 24 hours with isolated heavy falls. Rainfall occured at most places over Tamilnadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep; at many places over Rayalaseema, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka; at a few places over north interior Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Sikkim and Assam & Meghalaya. Weather remained mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm and above) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Nellore and Tiruchchirapalli8 each, Karipur7, Cuddalore, Kanyakumari and Coimbatore5 each, Ratnagiri, Cochin (Nadumbassery), Coonoor and Chennai (Air Port)4 each, Vellore, Bangalore, Honavar, K.Paramathy, Chennai (city), Tondi, Kodaikanal, Kavaratti and Maya Bandar3 each and Kottayam, Madurai, Punalur, Panambur, Arogyavaram and Atiramapattinam 2 each.
♦ Minimum temperatures were above normal by 23°C over some parts of Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra and below normal by 24°C over some parts of Haryana, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh and east India. They were near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 11.7°C was recorded at Sarsawa (Uttar Pradesh) in plains of the country.
♦ Kalpana1 cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of east Jammu & Kashmir,south Kerala, south Tamilnadu, south Bay of Bengal, south Andaman Sea and northwest, central & south Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest western Himalayan region, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, southwest Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and rest south peninsular India.
Weather Warning:
Heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over Tamilnadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
