♦ From 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today, rainfall has occured at most places over Kerala and Lakshadweep; at many places over Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu; at a few places over Telengana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Assam & Meghalaya and north interior Karnataka. Weather remained mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Kozhikode and Kottayam4 each, Thiruvananthapuram, Punalur and Coonoor3 each, Kodaikanal2 and Anantapur, Ongole, Karaikal, Cochin, Bapatla, Pamban, Vellore, Nellore, Agathi and Nan Cowry1 each.
♦ Maximum temperatures are above normal by 23°C over some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch, west Madhya Pradesh Orissa, Maharashtra and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Gujarat region, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, north Andhra Pradesh and north coastal Karnataka and below normal by 23°C over some parts of planes of northwest & south peninsular India and Lakshadweep. They are near normal over rest parts of the country. The Highest Maximum temperature of 37.0°C has been recorded at Surendranagar (Gujarat) in the country.
♦ Kalpana1 cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of extreme northeast Jammu & Kashmir, south peninsular India, Lakshadweep area, south & eastcentral Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and central & south Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest western Himalayan region, northeastern states, south Chhattisgarh, south Orissa and Maharashtra.
