Main Weather Observations of India:



♦  Southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from the remaining parts of the country, Bay of Bengal
and Arabian Sea and thus, it has withdrawn from the entire country.
♦  Simultaneously, the Northeast Monsoon rains have commenced over Tamilnadu and adjoining areas
of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka states.
♦  From 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today  rainfall/snowfall has occured at one or two places over Himachal
Pradesh. Rainfall has occured at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu and at one or two places over northeastern states, Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are : Kottayam­3 and Nellore, Salem and Palayankottai­1 each.
♦  Maximum temperatures are below normal by 2­3°C over isolated pockets of Jammu & Kashmir, west
Rajasthan, north Maharashtra and coastal Tamilnadu and above normal by 2­3°C over many parts of the country outside Punjab, Haryana, rest west Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and south interior Tamilnadu where they are near normal. The highest maximum temperature of 37.7°C has been recorded at Surendranagar (Gujarat) in the country.
♦  Kalpana­1 cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of south peninsular India,
westcentral & south Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and south Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over western Himalayan region, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, south Chhattisgarh and south Orissa.
