Monsoon Watch :

Southwest monsoon has further withdrawn from remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat,many parts of Bihar, some parts of Jharkhand, north Chhattishgarh and north Maharashtra.

♦ The withdrawal line of monsoon passes through Lat. 28.0°N / Long. 87.0°E, Forbesgunj, Gaya, Pendra, Nagpur,Akola, Malegaon, Dahanu, Lat. 20.0°N / Long. 70.0°E and Lat. 20.0°N / Long. 65.0°E.

♦ From 0830­-1730 hours IST of today, scattered rainfall has occured over Kerala and isolated over interior Maharashtra,Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Gangetic West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu. Weather remained
mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Chennai, Tirupathi and Narsapur­-2 each, and Digha, Rentachintala and Durg ­-1 each.

♦ Maximum temperatures are above normal by 2­-4°C over many parts of northeastern states, West Bengal, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and interior Maharashtra and some parts of east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka, west coast and Lakshadweep. The highest maximum temperature of 38.5°C has been recorded at Deesa, Veraval and Surendranagar (Gujarat) in plains of the country.
