Rainfall has occurred at many places over Kerala and Tamilnadu; at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar islands and at one or two places over SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, northeastern states and Rayalaseema. Weather remained mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Pamban8, Baptala5, Cochin and Nellore3 each and Karipur, Atiramapattinam and K. Paramathy1 each. ♦ Maximum temperatures are above normal by 23°C over some parts of Himachal Pradesh, north Rajasthan, northeastern states, Konkan & Goa, north & coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar islands and isolated pockets of Chhattisgarh, Orissa, south Saurashtra, interior Maharashtra, and Kerala. They are below normal by 23°C over some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Kutch, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu and isolated pockets of Jammu, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and Kerala. They are near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 37.5°C has been recorded at Bhira (Maharashtra) in the country. ♦ Kalpana1 cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of south peninsular India, westcentral & south Bay of Bengal, south Andaman Sea and north, central & south Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of western Himalayan region, south Rajasthan, northeastern states and Gujarat.
