♦ TEMPERATURES: Maximum temperatures were below normal by 23° C over some parts of east Madhya Pradesh and Tamilnadu and isolated pockets of Haryana, Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. They were above normal by 23° C over many parts of northeastern states, SubHimalayan West Bengal and some parts of west coast and Western Himalayan region and near normal over rest parts of the country.
♦ RAINFALL:Rainfall occurred at a few places over coastal Tamilnadu and at one or two places over Lakshadweep and Rayalaseema. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Vedaranniyam7; Karaikal4; Pamban3; Nagappattinam2 and Atiramapattinam and Minicoy1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over Tamilnadu, Kerala, south Karnataka, south Bay of Bengal, comorin area and south Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of western Himalayan region and rest south peninsular India.
♦ The deep depression over southwest Bay of Bengal remained practically stationary and lay centred at 0530 hours IST of today, the 30th October, 2012 over southwest Bay of Bengal near lat. 9.0°N and long. 82.0°E, about 500 Km southsoutheast of Chennai. The system would intensify further into a cyclonic storm and move northwestwards for some more time and then cross north Tamilnadu and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coast between Nagapattinam and Nellore by 31st October, 2012 afternoon/evening.
♦ The trough of low from Lakshadweep area and adjoining southeast Arabian sea to Karnataka coast persists.
♦ A low pressure area would develop over southeast Arabian Sea during next 24 hours.
♦ A western disturbance would affect western Himalayan region from 1st November.
