♦ TEMPERATURES: Maximum temperatures were below normal by 24° C over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka,Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. They were above normal by 12° C over parts of east Rajasthan, Gujarat, west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and northeastern states.The highest maximum temperature of 38.0°C was recorded at Bhuj(Gujarat) in plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall occurred at most places over Lakshadweep; at a many places over Tamilnadu, Kerala, coastal & south Andhra Pradesh and at one or two places over south interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Aminidivi7; Agathi3; Kavali, Bapatla, Machilipatnam, Narsapur, Chennai(city), Rentachintala, Thiruvananthapuram and Alleppy1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of south peninsular India, south Bay of Bengal, south Andaman sea and southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and rest peninsular India.
♦ The northeast monsoon was vigorous over Rayalaseema and Tamilnadu and active over interior Karnataka and Kerala ending at 0830 hours IST of 21st October.
♦ A low pressure area has developed over southeast Arabian Sea. It may concentrate into a depression during next 48 hours.
♦ The western disturbance as an upper air system over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir now lies over Jammu & Kashmir.
♦ An upper air cyclonic circulation over south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood extends upto 3.1 Km above mean sea level persists. Under its influence, a low pressure area would form over the same area around 24th October.
