TEMPERATURE: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 24° C over many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, north Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, north interior Karnataka and isolated pockets of Tripura and Kerala. They are above normal by 23° C over some parts of Gujarat and Tamilnadu and near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 7.4°C has been recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) in plains of the country. ♦ RAINFALL :Rainfall occurred at many places over Kerala at a few places over Tamilnadu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over northeastern states. The significant amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Coimbatore10, Tondi9, Perikulam8, Palakkad6, Punalur and Nedumbassery5 each; Nancowry, Cannur and Alapuzha3 each; Kodaikanal and Thriuvananthapuram2; Passighat, Vedaranyam and Hutbay1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of western Himalayan region. southeast Arabian sea, Andaman sea and southeast Bay of Bengal. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest western Himalayan region, northwest India, Tamilnadu, Kerala and over Arunachal Pradesh.
