TEMPERATURES: Yesterday,maximum temperatures were below normal by 7°C over isolated pockets of Bihar and subHimalayan West Bengal and by 24° C over some parts of Rajasthan, Bihar and rest subHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. They were above normal by 24° C over many parts of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and isolated pockets of western Himalayan region, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, rest Rajasthan, north Karnataka and coastal Tamilnadu and near normal over rest of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 37.0°C was recorded at Karwar (Karnataka) in the country.
RAINFALL: Light rain/snow occurred at one or two places over Jammu & Kashmir. Light rainfall also occurred at one or two places over Kerala and Tamilnadu.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of extreme northern Jammu & Kashmir, southwest Bay of Bengal, comorin area and south Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over Jammu & Kashmir and over parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Punjab and south peninsular India.
♦ The western disturbance as an upper air system over north Pakistan and neighbourhood now lies over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir.
♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and neighbourhood in lower levels persists.
♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep and neighbourhood in lower levels persists.
