Weather India 19 May 2013 Rainfall Forecast

♦  TEMPERATURES: Yesterday, heat wave conditions prevailed over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, north Madhya Pradesh and at isolated pockets of Chhattishgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Yesterday's maximum temperatures   recorded above 47.0°C were: Churu­48.5°C, Allahabad­48.3°C, Bikaner­47.2°C and Nagpur­ 47.0°C.  Today, minimum temperatures are above normal by 4­6°C over many parts of east Rajasthan and isolated pockets of Jharkhand, Odisha; by 2­ 3°C over some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, west Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat region, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, interior Maharashtra, Telengana, coastal Karnataka and Tamilnadu. They are below normal by 2­4°C; at one or two places over Arunachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal and north interior Karnataka.They were near normal over rest parts of the country. 
♦   RAINFALL: Rainfall/ thundershowers has occurred at most places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at many places over Assam, Meghalaya; at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal & Sikkim, interior Karnataka and at one or two places over Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over  rest of the country. The chief amounts of  rainfall  (1  cm. or above)  recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Kailashahar­12; Chitradurga­7; Itanagar­6; Chickmagalur­5; Car Nicobar, Cooch Behar­4 each; Davangere, Port Blair, Dhubri, Canning, Agartala, Tezpur and Dibrugarh­3 each, Deomali, North Lakhimpur, Majbat and Shantiniketan­2 each, Baghdogra, Passighat, Hut Bay, Nancowry, Kolkata, Long Island, Diamond Harbour, Silchar and Rangia­1 each.
♦  CLOUDS: Kalpana­1 Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of southeast Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and south Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
